S&M (U.S.A.) ENTERPRISE CORP ISSUES ALERT ON UNDECLARED SULFITES IN GROW GROVE NOTES BRAND DRIED TARO.
S&M (U.S.A) ENTERRPIRSE CORP. of 4703 2nd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11232 is recalling Grow Grove Notes brand Dried Taro because it contained undeclared sulfites. Consumers who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
Grow Grove Notes brand Dried Taro is sold in an un-coded 12 ounce, clear plastic package and was distributed in New York State. It is a product of China.
The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in Grow Grove Notes Brand Dried Taro which were not declared on the label. The consumption of 10 milligram of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reaction in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more of sulfites.
No illnesses or allergic reaction involving this product have been reported to date. Consumers who have purchased Grow Grove Notes brand Dried Taro are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 718-492-4288.

Orval Kent Food Company, Inc Voluntarily Recalls 23 Products Containing Cilantro
Recall Reason: Because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella.

Products:The Orval Kent products are being recalled because they contain fresh cilantro produced and distributed by EpicVeg, Inc. of Lompoc, CA. Epic Veg, Inc. issued the notice to recall one lot of cilantro with the UPC code 033383801049 and lot 6127R on November 3, 2010. This lot of cilantro has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella EpicVeg, Inc. distributed the cilantro to Field Fresh Foods, a produce supplier to Orval Kent.

Orval Kent products affected total 43,814 lb. The recalled products were distributed at retail stores nationwide.

KOSHER FIRST LLC. 502 FLUSHING AVE. is recalling TUV TAAM SALADS NOVA LOX SALAD due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail, or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy persons may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The problem was discovered after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel found the product to be positive for Listeria monocytogenes .
Tuv Taam Salads Brand Nova Lox Salad is packed in a 17 oz. plastic container coded Sell By 12/03/2010. It was distributed to COSTCO locations in New York and New Jersey. It is a product of the USA.
