RED LOTUS BAKERY, IS RECALLING ITS 12 OUNCES PACKAGES OF BUTTER CUP CAKES BECAUSE THEY MAY CONTAIN UNDECLARED EGGS. CONSUMERS WHO ARE ALLERGIC TO EGGS MAY RUN THE RISK OF SERIOUS OR LIFE-THREATENING ALLERGIC REACTIONS IF THEY CONSUME THIS PRODUCT.

THE RECALL WAS INITIATED AFTER ROUTINE SAMPLING BY NEW YORK STATE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AND MARKETS FOOD INSPECTORS AND SUBSEQUENT ANALYSIS BY FOOD LABORATORY PERSONNEL REVEALED THE PRESENCE OF EGGS IN THE 12 OUNCES PACKAGES OF “BUTTER CUP CAKE” WHICH DID NOT DECLARE AN EGG INGREDIENT ON THE LABEL.

Cibo Vita issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Sulfites in Mediterranean Mix of Woodpecker brand.

Cibo Vita, 280 N. Midland Ave Saddle Brook, NJ 07663 is recalling Mediterranean Mix of Woodpecker brand because it may contain undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

The recalled Mediterranean Mix, in plastic containers of 8.5 OZ was sold to the list of the attached customers.

The recall was initiated after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequently analysis of the product by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of sulfites in packages of Mediterranean Mix which did not declare sulfites on the label. The consumption of 10 milligrams of sulfites per serving has been reported to elicit severe reactions in some asthmatics. Anaphylactic shock could occur in certain sulfite sensitive individuals upon ingesting 10 milligrams or more sulfites.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.

Morningland Dairy Conducting Nationwide Voluntary Recall of All Cheese Labeled as Morningland Dairy & Ozark Hills Farm Because of Possible Health Risk
Recall Reason: Because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogene or Staphylococcus aureus.The recall is a result of regulatory sampling in the State of California. This regulatory sampling of Morningland Dairy cheese, which was taken from the Rawesome store in Venice, California, revealed the Morningland Dairy Hot Pepper Colby and Garlic Colby Cheeses contained the bacteria. Morningland Dairy has suspended the production and distribution of all cheese, as FDA, the Missouri Milk Board, and Morningland Dairy continue their investigation as to the root cause of the problem.

Packs/Codes:The cheese is packaged in vacuum-sealed plastic packages that are sold as random weight size retail packages. The specific varieties of cheese are sold under the following brand names and flavors:

Morningland Dairy Raw Milk Cheese (from cow milk): Colby, Hot Pepper Colby, Garlic Colby, Italian Colby, Dill Colby, No-Salt Added Mild Cheddar, Mild Cheddar, Medium Sharp Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar. Ozark Hill Farms Raw Goat Milk Cheese: Colby, Hot Pepper Colby, Italian Colby, Garlic 'N' Chive Colby, Mild Cheddar, Medium Sharp Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar. The codes affected by the recall are handwritten on the front of the label, and range from A10 (representing January 1, 2010) through F250 (representing June 25, 2010).
