Kraft Foods has issued a recall for Baker’s Premium White Chocolate Baking Squares (6oz) with a UPC Code 0043000252200 and case expiration and package “best when used by” dates:

31 MAR 2008
01 APR 2008
02 APR 2008
03 APR 2008

This product may be contaminated with Salmonella, (a bacterium that causes foodborne illness).

Symptoms of foodborne illness caused by Salmonella include fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. In persons with poor underlying health or weakened immune systems, Salmonella can invade the bloodstream and cause life-threatening infections.

Effective immediately, these products are being recalled.

No other varieties of Baker’s White Chocolate or any other Baker’s products are impacted.

Please hold this product at the warehouse and remove it from retail store shelves. Your Kraft sales representative will be contacting the appropriate people within your organization to complete the recall as soon as possible and make arrangements for production disposition.

If you have shipped this product to other locations either within your own system or externally, or used it in in-house deli or other preparations please send this recall notice to the appropriate parties.
